Orange County Criminal Defense Attorney Locations

If you are cited or charged for possession of 1 ounce or less of marijuana, you are generally cited under Health and Safety Code Section 11357(b). Every person who possesses less than 28.5 grams of marijuana (1 ounce) is guilty of a misdemeanor and should be punished by a fine of not more than $250.

If you have been given a citation for this offence, please contact our offices to discuss your defense options.

If you can avoid a marijuana conviction, it is your best option; as an individual’s employment or even travel can end up being limited due to such a conviction.

There are several other alternatives to convicting an individual for possessing less than 1 ounce of marijuana. Some of these alternatives include drug diversion under Penal Code Section 1000, as well as attendance in a 1 day Orange coast College drug education class.

Our office has also had some cases dismissed in exchange for the accused’s attendance at 10 Narcotics Anonymous meetings. There may also be defenses to your case available, if the charge was made after an unlawful search and seizure.

When you contact us, we will set an appointment to discuss the details of your case, educate you on the latest laws including possible alternatives and defenses to charges of this nature.

The initial consultation is free.
